DAY 17 | Hardcore Nuzlocke Pokémon Emerald Crest! -PizzaChefLocke(Attempt 79:Brawly Battle)

I’ve been playing Pokémon for 25 years, and this is my attempt at my new ChefLocke challenge of Pokémon Emerald Crest!
Rule Set below!

Emerald Crest is an exciting, feature rich romhack of Pokémon Emerald, which adds Pokémon all the way to Gen 9, up to Indigo Disk!
With loads of Randomizer options, this romhack is the perfect game to play for one of the most versatile recipes there is. Pizza.

I’ll be playing on Normal Difficulty, Story Mode, with the following Randomizer Options
-Random Trainer Teams
-Random Abilities (I’m self imposing a ban on Wonder Guard, but I’m leaving, Huge Power on the table lol)
-Random Starters (I’m self imposing a ban on over 600 BST Banned, Including Slaking line)
-Random Wild Pokemon (No Pokemon Banned, If I can catch a level 2 Rayquaza on Route 101 with a Pokeball, I’m taking it.)
-Random Static Encounters (Overworld Kecleon will end up being something random)
-No balance on tiers (Instead of getting similarly strong random replacements for the regular wild Pokémon, it will be truly random)

A ChefLocke is a new rule set I came up with to combine my love of cooking with my love of Pokémon!

Hardcore Nuzlocke rules apply as normal
-You can only catch the first Pokémon you encounter in each specific location
-If a Pokémon faints it is boxed permanently and considered dead
-You can’t level up higher than the next gym leader’s ace
-No items allowed in battle, except for held items
-Must play in set mode

The ChefLocke variant works like this
-At the beginning of the challenge the player picks a recipe to cook
-Each encounter must me named after an ingredient in that recipe
-At the end of the challenge, you must make the recipe chosen with ONLY the ingredients left. If Ketchup the Haunter faints in your hamburger run, then you get no ketchup.
-At the beginning of the challenge Identify the foundational ingredients for that recipe (Ingredients that the recipe simply couldn’t be made without. For instance for a Fried Rice ChefLocke, Rice would be a foundational ingredient). You must name a Pokémon after each foundational ingredient before the end of the challenge. If any of your foundational ingredients faint, then the run is dead, and you must start over.
-You must have at least one foundational ingredient in your party at all times.

70 listed ingredients for all 70 potential encounters. Typically I limit the amount of ingredients to match a predetermined recipe, which can greatly limit my potential encounters.
But for this challenge I thought it would be more fun to give myself unlimited encounters, and see what kind of weird pizza I end up making when all is said and done.

Hello, hello everybody. Here we are for another night of our favorite hardcore pizza chef lock of Pokemon Emerald Crest fully randomized with random abilities. Welcome to the stream. It’s day whatever it is. 17 I think it says uh temp 79 we’re in. Don’t feel great about it. I’m not not convinced. Uh this is Flower, our starter, the Tyloian, uh with guts. It’s got guts. Nothing wrong with that. Nothing particularly awesome about it either. I mean, he’s a special attacker predominantly. Uh we got some other interesting abilities like like this uh Kramer has chilling nay uh and uh this Vikavolt has intimidate. So, we’ve got, you know, got some interesting stuff going on here. We got this modest uh modest Alolan Exeggutor. Nothing wrong with that, you know. So, it’s not all it’s not all awful, you know. We’re not I’m not throwing in the towel, but there’s just nothing to feel great about. Uh, but I think this is the squad that we take into Broly here. There’s a few other things in the PC, but uh I’m not uh really keen on any of them. But we can go double check if you insist, if you just really are dying to see. Uh I’m on the couch to start today’s stream, just always a little comfier than the chair. And I’m doing maybe a little longer stream today. I am getting over a cold. My throat is doing its thing. I’m not one of these people that’s like non-damaging moves aren’t like damage move only supremacists, but I do tend to lean that way in the early game especially like unless it’s something great like charm um like a two-stage drop like that or you know like great supporting moves that typically are safe for like later levels. Uh, I just think coverage for me is better than I don’t know, not coverage. No, that is not what I meant to do. Um, I’m going to get rid of spit up. I think swallow for now is fun to have. Uh I just think it has the potential to have the more obnoxious move set. Body slam, hypnosis, whereas a rocket I kind of understand like there’s only so many moves he has access to that bother me. But like right when this lady starts like sucking on the big fake alien penis, they dropped a beep and I was like, “This is the most fun I’ve had being high yet. I’m like 20.” It was tight. You ever be 20 years old before? Wow. I hadn’t even picked up the soft sand. I was just encounter baby. That’s weird. But yeah, it was one of the more hype things I’ve ever witnessed in a concert. Crunch. Crunch. If Crunch had flint chance, flinch chance, it would be too powerful. Perugly is so weirdly fast for how like big and fat he is. Um, this thing’s going to hit us and weak armor us. That per ugly was you you encounter a per ugly before you have like I don’t know like a ghost type Pokemon or fighting type Pokemon or a rock type Pokemon or whatever it is and you’re kind of going to get [ __ ] up a little bit. Okay, Carnivine has sturdy. Oh no. The level cap goes up so slightly. Like four levels is just kind of crazy for I don’t know an entire gym battle. [Music] Chilling nay. Chilling nay. Chilling nay. He’ll survive a hit and and we can quick attack down. Baby parts got this. Radicate goes so hard the same way Perugly does at this at this point in the game. They just like are viable. the the level like just like the difference in stats that comes from like the base stat total I just feel like is less felt. Hey, don’t water pulse me you dumb douchebag. They don’t buy the rare candies. So, that’s an interesting thing about this game. A lot of other games, you just spam in your rare candies and you go, “Oo, hooray.” And you sell them and everyone loves it. But not this game. No, no, no. Oh, we can sell these. We don’t use items in battle. Hang on. All those. They all have uses. Obviously, the berries. So, that’s all we got to sell. So, quick balls still not affordable. I don’t think we have anybody that uh I don’t think we have any stone evolutions or anything like that to worry about. Let’s look at who we got in the box. There’s not much. Tatigary. Gothel level up evolution. Yeah. And all these are not spectacular. This to giri is not bad. I’m just like using crarant instead for now just because just prefer it. Um all right.
