Fourth Wave Wine has announced a new wine range and five new SKUs to its Italian wine brand Maretti.
Intended to offer better value than the existing expressions, the Maretti Italia range includes Sparkling Pinot Grigio, Pinot Grigio, Sangiovese, Rosé and Pinot Noir, each retailing for $18 and sourced from the 2024 vintage.
“We are excited to expand our offering of Maretti Wines in Australia, tapping into a growing segment of adventurous consumers seeking to venture beyond traditional domestic wine styles,” says Fourth Wave Wine’s Global Marketing Manager of Premium Brands Alex Caillard.
“Maretti’s Italia wine range strikes the perfect balance of authentic Italian heritage, great tasting wine, and accessibility – meeting the evolving tastes of today’s sophisticated yet value- conscious drinkers.”
The Drinks Trade Tasting Panel had the chance to try the Pinot Grigio, Rosé and Sangiovese, out of which the red wine was the clear standout:
Tasted: Maretti Italia Sangiovese 2024
Region: Puglia, Italy (IGT)
Our thoughts: “Fresh and lively, balancing vibrant, ripe plum and cherry with a herbal edge. Structure is soft and juicy, with low levels of fine, dusty tannin and gentle acidity. Balanced, and quite summery in nature.”
Who’s it for: “Sourced from Puglia, this is a ripe, fruit-forward sangiovese that would serve as a great entry point into Italian/European wines for consumers that typically reach for full-bodied Australian wines such as Barossa shiraz.”
RRP: $18
The five SKUs in Maretti Italia are sourced from Puglia and Pavia
