Bomboloni✨ Custard or chocolate which one would you pick?
Recipe:
For dough:
Egg-1 large Sugar-3tbsp Instant Yeast-2tsp Milk-1cup lukewarm Vanilla essence-1tsp All purpose flour-3cup Salt-1/2tsp Butter-3tbsp
In a bowl, whisk together egg, sugar, yeast, lukewarm milk, and vanilla until the sugar dissolves. Add all-purpose flour and salt, then mix into a soft dough. Add butter and knead well for 12–15 minutes until smooth and elastic Lightly oil the dough, cover, and rest for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
Punch down the risen dough and divide into equal portions. Roll into smooth balls, place on a tray, cover, and let rest for 30 minutes.
Heat oil on medium-low flame and deep fry the dough balls until golden brown. Remove and immediately coat in sugar ( powdered/ Caster ) while still warm.
Pipe in custard (or chocolate) filling generously.
For custard:
Egg yolks-4 Sugar-1/2 cup Cornflour-3tbsp Vanilla-1tsp Salt -1 pinch Milk-2cup Chocolate-1/2cup
In a saucepan, whisk together egg yolks, sugar, cornflour, vanilla, and a pinch of salt. Add a little milk and whisk until smooth, with no lumps. Gradually add the rest of the milk, whisking well. Place the saucepan on medium-low heat and cook, stirring continuously, until the custard thickens. Once ready, transfer half of the custard to a bowl and add chocolate and stir until melted and combined.
