I added, grind by weight functionality to the Eureka Mignon Specialita Grinder. It’s probably the best GBW implementation I have seen. Super easy to install and requires only $50 in parts, if you have access to a 3-D printer. The modular design is non-destructive and can easily be reversed if needed. The screen is a big upgrade and replaces the controller for the grinder. I was really thinking about upgrading to a libra until I saw this project.

Oh awesome! I have a few spare parts lying around from other electronics projects and had thought about trying to do something just like this. This looks way better and more refined than anything I could find up with. I have a different Eureka machine but I bet I could adapt it to make this work for it. I’m definitely looking into this further!
Great to see my mod in the wild! That 0.2g is quite the overshoot! I might have regressed in v1.3.0 a bit with too aggressive parameters. Would appreciate if you can share your diagnostic output (with some recorded grind sessions) via a github issue.
Wow! That’s a really good implementation of an aftermarket gbw mod.
You need to show a video weighing the results..
I’m working through modding a Silenzio right now using u/Jaappppppp/ mod. I seem to only have needed 1 extra part (faceplate), but decided to make it easy on myself and get 2 (bottom control board from Specialita).
All in $150 to go from Silenzio to Libra (but better, imo).
Will post when finished.
Were you able to follow the (very good) instructions on GitHub or did you have to make any adaptations?
Also, did you have to make any adaptations to accommodate a different sized dosing cup
This might be dumb but man it’s annoying to see those 3d printed parts without a fillet on them….
