It’s National Pasta Month! In 2011, the U.S. National Pasta Association (NPA) declared October would be the month to inspire people to appreciate popular comfort food and enjoy it in a variety of ways throughout the month.
It’s likely no coincidence that National Pasta Day is on October 17th and World Pasta Day is celebrated on October 25th.
While it’s great to have a month to celebrate pasta, most people do that year-round. Pasta is extremely popular in the United States, with statistics showing that it’s consumed by nearly all households (around 96%) and 86% of people weekly. In all, Americans consume about 20 pounds of pasta per person annually, placing the U.S. sixth in the world for per capita consumption.
In honor of National Pasta Month, national food experts went on a quest to find the best bowl of pasta in every state in the United States, and while there will likely be friendly debates to follow, they have found the best in Wisconsin.
Finding The Best Bowl Of Pasta In Every State
To find the best bowl of pasta in every state, the lucky foodies at LoveFood analyzed and visited a variety of places, “from longstanding Italian trattorias to more modern restaurants putting their own spin on the classics.”
They then made their selections based on genuine user reviews, awards, accolades, and the first-hand experience of their team. A real dedicated pasta lover could use their findings to travel the country, eating the best of the best.
The Best Bowl Of Pasta In Wisconsin
In Wisconsin, the best bowl of pasta was found at Ristorante Bartolotta dal 1993, located at 7616 W. State Street in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.
Ristorante Bartolotta dal 1993 was conceived by The Bartolotta Restaurants co-founders, restaurateur Joe Bartolotta and his brother, Chef Paul Bartolotta. You’ll find the popular restaurant Ristorante Bartolotta dal 1993 nestled in a historic brewery building in the Village of Wauwatosa.
Ristorante Bartolotta dal 1993 is the flagship restaurant in the Bartolotta Restaurants portfolio, and it’s “acclaimed for its handmade pasta and authentic Italian cuisine in a cozy, intimate setting.”
It’s also where you’ll find what the LoveFood team says is the best bowl of pasta in the state of Wisconsin, the Uovo in Raviolo. While it’s this amazing dish is only on the menu during truffle season, the team at LoveFood says it’s well worth seeking out.

It’s a large raviolo filled with spinach, ricotta, and an egg yolk, cooked to a runny consistency. It’s then perfectly finished with Parmesan and brown butter. “It’s indulgent and rich, just like pasta should be.”
Ristorante Bartolotta dal 1993 is open daily from 5 pm to 9 pm, and reservations are recommended.
