Probably the most common beginner set up but I am loving it and the journey so far. I have only ran through probably 6 cycles but got it where I'm enjoying the taste right now. Will continue to make small adjustments and dial it in more.

I went to a local coffee shop that roasts their own beans. The problem is they put them in the the big dispensers not individual bags. Reluctantly I got some of those before I found out that's a no no. Why would they do that (besides the obvious reasoning being the cost of labor to individually bag them). I haven't had any luck locally finding freshly roasted beans within a 30 day freshness period. However, I'll keep searching.

  1. Good set up. You’ve covered all the basics. Good luck on the quest for fresh beans.

  2. Nice.

Pulled my first couple of coffees with a similar setup today (although 64 instead of 54). Was pretty straightforward. Great kit.

I hardly ever buy coffee from local roasters.

I just purchased the same setup and went with stainless over black truffle on the bambino.

This post is making me regret it. The black looks great next to a df54

  5. its super rare that a local roaster will have actually good coffee. Ordering online or roasting your own are the two best choices if you really want the best

Man I’ve found the bambino + to be an endgame unless I just want the aesthetic of higher end machines. I tried upgrading thinking it would make a difference and it just left me frustrated, missing the small convienences and speed of the bambino start to finish, and most of all the end result didn’t taste any different.
