Tofu Deli Meat
I was really hungry and craving a deli meat sandwich, naturally I turned a block of extra firm tofu into the most delicious sliced deli meat! I gave this one in Italian twist and it came out tasting so good!
Ingredients:
1 lbs extra firm, tofu, drained, dried, & thinly sliced
3 Tbs olive oil
3/4 tsp garlic powder or granulated garlic
1/2 tsp each: Italian seasoning, oregano, smoked paprika
1/4 tsp salt
1 Tbs soy sauce
To make the sandwich:
Whole wheat bread
Vegan mayonnaise
Mustard
Sliced tomatoes and avocado
Iceberg lettuce
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°F, line a cooking sheet with parchment paper. Mix the herbs and spices with the soy sauce and olive oil in a large enough bowl to toss & marinate the tofu. After 10 minutes arrange the marinated tofu slices onto the prepared baking sheet. Roast tofu between 30 to 40 minutes, depending on the oven and how thick the slices came out, some bits and pieces will be more crunchy than others, yummy! You’re looking for a chewy meaty texture.
Assemble your sandwich the way you like it!
If you have any leftovers, keep them in an airtight container in the fridge for a few days.

I was hungry and craving a delicious deli sandwich. So, I turned a block of tofu into the most delicious deli meat. Start by thinly slicing extra firm tofu that has been drained. Then, season with Italian herbs, smoked paprika, soy sauce, salt, a little bit of oregano, and some Italian seasoning. Marinate for about 10 minutes. Then roast in a preheated oven over parchment paper for about 30 to 40 minutes, depending on your oven and how thick you slice the tofu. Make sure to put that on parchment paper. And then make your sandwich. I made mine with some whole wheat bread, vegan mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and oh my goodness, it was so delicious.
