This bistro and wine bar isn’t a high-end place, but it does have a decent list, and nothing in the bottle or glass listings aligns with these Franzia wines.
I’m assuming—hoping—this wine is being used for sangria or cocktails or cooking.

Nope
No
That is not a wine bar.
So long as that’s kit all they have who cares how they treat something I won’t drink
No
That’s almost certainly for cooking
Yeah I’d still go there as long as they sell more than franzia
Every single restaurant I have ever worked with has used franzia for cooking, stocks, etc… i mean the wine they sell is listed on their menu right? I doubt they are going the cartel route and cutting your wine lol
I don’t really care what wine a venue uses in their sauces and braises. By the time something has been cooking and reducing for 4-10 hours, any subtleties in the wine wont make a touch of difference.
I would presume that anything on the wine list is accurate to what is being poured into the glass. If they are pouring this and lying, thats a whole other can of worms.
I would say sangria or cooking
I barely trust BTG lists but I assume this is for cooking
Everyone is saying cooking, but it’s possible that it’s frozen wine slushies!
OP, did you take this picture in the summer?
Not all wine bars are for wine drinkers. Many are places for people to drink some wine. There’s a difference. The second one sells a lot of cheap rosé and wine slushies.
I own a wine bar. As others have said, it’s probably used for cooking, but it’s a very bad look. We don’t have a kitchen but if we did, no way would I allow those to sit for more than a nanosecond.
I would definitely go to one using it as a door stop because that would make me laugh.
Franzia is the worst headache inducing beverage there is. So no I would not frequent it 😆
To be fair it’s Franzia and probably wouldn’t taste much different if heat damaged lol
Cooking or sangria… if they’re swapping it in for better wine that’s a huge issue.
It happens but rarely.
I dunno, is that alcohol?
I would thinkk cooking wine, OR an mis-shipment . As a distributor, this happens.
It just means the drivers for that supplier couldn’t be bothered to wait around for the owner to show up so they left their product outside the store. Extremely bad form by them, so many buyers get furious when they do that.
True I guess it could have been dropped off at the wrong location, but I don’t see why an account would leave it on the street. In my area, that’s snatched in about 90 seconds
Check the label. See who it’s really for

If they served you this, and you didn’t figure it out, I would say no harm no foul.
I wouldn’t frequent a wine bar that is pouring Franzia haha.
Definitely for cooking. Especially with the labels being Burgundy and Chablis
Hard no
We used boxed wine for cooking all the time at my previous restaurant. High end sushi restaurant. The box never got near the wet bar.
What do you think “house wine” means? The fancy stuff?
We use those exact labels for cooking
Like many have said it’s cooking wine.
I was bringing my chef samples for pairings for wine dinner we were doing once, so as a joke I decided to try and slip him Franzia, but it was too warm so he caught it 😀
Looks like deuces are wild, Peralta
I would assume it’s for cooking or sangria. I can make an incredible sangria with some real cheap wine. Once I add my fruit, juice and liqueur and let it set for a bit, the cheap wine is much better
This is a bit elitst. Calm down, let businesses/people do what they want with wine, without judging this harshly.
Let’s make room for different experiences and uses for wine, instead of being so dramatic.
Edit: grammar.
I was always taught to never, ever cook with a wine that I wouldn’t drink, so that would be a no from me. Assuming they’re using it for cooking, that is.
Hey man, don’t be knocking Franzia. That shit got me through law school.
