That’s why you always crack an egg to a separate container

I’ve never had this happen before and never thought of cracking them into a separate container first. Thanks for the advice.

This is why I do the float test & then crack it in a separate container

Damn that sucks. I’ve gotten sick from smell but fortunately not while cooking ):

I can somehow smell this despite never coming across rotten eggs before

I never got a bad egg in my life until last month, when I ended up with two of them. Separate incidents and sources. Expect this to happen a lot more now with all the cuts made in food safety, inspections and regulations. Same for dairy, meat, etc

That’s why I crack eggs individually in a separate small bowl then transfer them one at a time to the main ingredients

I thought you stole this from weird eggs cuz you made the posts identical. You never answered how long you had that egg for! I asked on the other post. Has it been sitting in your fridge for 84 years?

I was gonna make an egg sandwich for breakfast, but I think I’ll just starve instead

How come all the other eggs are completely fine? Don’t all the eggs come out at the same time? I have no idea how egg processing works

In culinary school we were trained to crack each egg into a separate bowl and then transfer to the mix. I did this for about 5 years without incident.

I started getting lazy and cracking directly into the mix until one day I was making a custom wedding cake with 20 eggs in it. I cracked №17 and it was rotten. Specialty sugars, a brick and a bit of hand pressed farm butter, everything ruined.

Never again have I slipped up and neglected to crack my eggs separately.
