I’ve been eating sushi for over 15 years and I finally had to opportunity to treat myself and my wife to our “dream sushi meal.” Had a recent trip to Manhattan, NYC and took the chance to enjoy what is hands down the best sushi meal I have ever had. A beautiful and intimate setting that only seats 6 people per sitting. A 1 Michelin star traditional Edomae style omakase experience! The courses are as follows:
1. Sake
2. Chawanmushi Mushroom Dashi
3. Gizzard Shad
4. Baby Sea Bream
5. Cuttlefish
6. Hokkaido Sea Scallop
7. Pike Mackerel
8. Yellowtail Belly
9. Hokkaido Ikura With Hokkaido Uni
10. Shiitake Mushroom With Bamboo Charcoal Sea Salt
11. Akami Lean Bluefin Tuna Marinated In Dashi
12. Chutoro Medium Fatty Bluefin Tuna
13. Salt Water Sea Eel With Nitsume
14. Stone Crab And Shrimp Soup
15. Tamago
16. Roasted Green Tea
17. Koji Fermented Rice Ice Cream With Sushi Rice Puffs

It was so fast LOL I think I was in and out in an hour. We were in the side room for just 4 tho
Looks great! What was your favorite course?
So glad you liked it! I think it’s actually pretty underrated
Was it the $195/pp menu or the more expensive one (used to be around $400-500)? Seems like they might have fully moved over to the $195/pp menu which I think is a fantastic move. I went a few months ago at that lower price, Matsu at the counter. Fantastic, and I thought it rivaled Yoshino at a third the price, though it’s a more expedited meal. I think Shota in Williamsburg (which I’d recommend next time you’re in town) and Noz 17 are the ideal places to go in NYC if you don’t want to totally eviscerate your wallet.
