I have mixed feelings on this one. I definitely got "got" by the marketing, and I bought this with the intention of it being the most extreme natural sauce on the market. While what I got wasn't that, I'm not too interested in discussing what it's not, but what it is.
I've had this sauce for a few weeks, and I've mostly not used it since my initial taste test. This was my first pepper x sauce, which definitely does have a unique flavor compared to any other pepper sauce I own. I don't love it, and I don't hate it. The flavor is hard to describe. Earthy is the immediate word that comes to mind, and then it finishes with tanginess. Something about that combination continues to leave me unsure of how much I enjoy the flavor. The heat seems relatively mild at first, but it does build to a very noticeable heat that sneaks up on you.
After a couple weeks of it sitting untouched in my cabinet, I've found a very specific use for it. It pairs surprisingly well with barbecue sauce. If I'm dipping something in barbecue, I like to add a "dab" to each bite. It's almost like this sauce was made for this very specific use. If you were disappointed by this sauce like I was and have it sitting in your cabinet, try it with barbecue sauce. It adds such a unique, spicy tang that I'm not sure anything else will give it.
Overall, I am still pretty "meh" on this sauce, but this specific pairing is genuinely great.
