Yes,home grown food always tastes so much better.

This is seriously impressive. I remember us religiously trying to grow tomatoes every year in our conservatory and nothing ever happened. We had success with strawberries and raspberries, but the elusive tomato was always out of reach. Enjoy that OP!!

I’m Italian and I understand how challenging it can be to grow tomatoes well in the UK, especially outdoors. They look great, with firm flesh and few seeds. Perhaps this year’s high temperatures made the difference. In our country, however, it was too hot and many tomatoes dried out.

  5. Absolutely 🔥, tastes great and so so good for health and longevity. 🍅FTW!

Thi is great!! I love tomatoes but mostly enjoy them on holiday. They are tiny and have no taste here, no matter how much you pay.

I eat it with just a sprinkle of coarse salt on top, maybe some dresh mozarella too, so yummy!

That looks delicious, what variety is it? My beef tomato’s came out jacked up

Perfect as a side salad. Sprinkle of rock salt and some chopped fresh basil and you’re transported to Italy. Or just put them on a smash burger.

Amazing! I always want to try and get beef tomatoes for my burgers as 3 smaller slices seem to slip and slide everywhere! But they hardly ever have them in stock in Sainsburys.

Lucky you. I love the scent of homegrown tomatoes when you pick them, shop bought ones don’t have it.

Did you refrigerate it? Gives it that weird texture.

Beefsteak tomato though. I’m happy for you growing your own and it looks great but grow anything but that tasteless yank crap. Might as well chew my own crunchy boogeys for all the taste they have.

  15. My Nan said that when my sister was born because she was ginger. Tbf though they do look good.

Beautiful… My other half has given me a load of cherry tomatoes this year but the ONE beef tomato that has ripened was incredibly tasty 🤤

Brilliant, but where’s the balsamic vinegar and pesto?

These looks great! Not like the crap ones you get in the shops. These actually look really flavourful and juicy

Looks great OP. Bit of nice olive oil on that 🤝

    Looks gorgeous.

And I am now crying in long covid MCAS. 4 years since I could eat tomatoes.

My grandma’s tomatoes are finally ripe too. I don’t like toms myself but I do wish I did when they look as delicious as yours does.

Ours have not turned red yet very slow this season
