USED THE RECIPE THAT IS ON MY OTHER PINEAPPLE JUMBO MUFFIN VIDEO
THIS IS A 12″ BUNDT PAN
NOTE: THIS LARGE BUNDT PAN IS SUPPOSED TO HOLD 2 BOXES CAKE MIX, BUT ONCE I PUT IN THE LAYER OF PINEAPPLE, CHERRIES, BROWN SUGAR MIX, THAT ALL TOOK MORE SPACE THAN I FACTORED IN, SO IT ACTUALLY COULD ONLY HOLD ONE BOX OF CAKE MIX

Hey, welcome back to Cooking with Mary Sue. I am putting together a a huge cake for the first time I’ve ever done this. I’m making it for a church social we’re having tomorrow night. I used the recipe, if you go back and look at my other pineapple upside down muffins, I use that recipe, but I am doubling it. I’m going to make it in this huge bunt pan. Hopefully, it’ll come out. We’ll see. If you can see here, I used uh this pan holds two boxes of cake mix. So, I made two separate bowls. Make made each cake mix separate. That’s a cake mix box. And I added a box of vanilla pudding, one cup of pineapple juice, which came from my can of pineapples sliced. Just drain them. Use that juice for your batter. Here, a box of mixed vanilla. A few dashes of vanilla here. Four eggs. I put four instead of three to help hold it together better. to make it more moist. And about a/3 cup of melted butter. And for the uh gooey part on the bottom, I used two cups I doubled it. Made two cups of brown sugar mixed with about a over a third cup of butter twice. So it’s 2/3 cup of butter melted and two cups of the brown sugar. That’s the gooey base on the bottom. And that’s two cans of pineapple. There’s one layered around the side and there’s one on the bottom. That’s a lot of cherries. And I also put some crushed pineapple in there. And I add crushed pineapple to my batter also. But now I’m going to pour both batters in here. And keep my fingers crossed that this comes out. I’ve never made one of these before. Now that pineapple stuff kind of takes up a lot of space in there. Okay, we’ll pause a second. Okay, I have to amend this. Once I added all the pineapples on the bottom and the cherries and the brown sugar mix, I think I only got room for one box of batter. So, this box over here I made up. I’ll just make cupcakes out of those. That’ll be fun. have some cupcakes. Okay, this has to go in the oven. I cook it on 350 or 325 in my confection oven for about probably 45 minutes and then we’ll check it. We’ll see how it looks. You might notice I’m putting my pan on a pizza pan down here just in case it goes over while it’s cooking and won’t make a mess in the oven. I always bake stuff on top of a pizza pan. Just helps clean up later. Y’all, we on we are on live. Okay, I’ve got it out of the oven. It cooked about 45 minutes. I’ll let it sit here and cool at least 15 before you flip it. And that’s the part that always worries me, the flipping part. Okay, I’m going to put on this this uh pizza pan. It’s just the right size for this to cover it by putting this down because I got to slide it off the pizza pan onto this uh cake plate over here. It is still a little bit warm. Let me see. Here we go. Cross your fingers. Oh, you’re holding the camera. You can’t cross your fingers, can you? And I got towels there cuz cuz runs everywhere. When it flips over, it makes a mess. Now you just throw the towels in the washer. One, two, three. Woohoo. See how the caramel there? while I let it cook on top of this piece of patty oven. This is a messy cake to make, but it tastes so good. The moment I’ve been dealing, still warm. Let’s see. What can I loosen it with now? The sides were all loose. I checked out the sides were nice. They were loose. See the white chrome running over here. Okay. Not too bad. It’s just a few little pieces of pineapple. The cake’s okay. The pineapple I can push back on. That’s That’s okay. Whoa. Okay. That’s not beyond repair. See, most of them stuck around here. These two got a little loose. Maybe they should have cooled a little bit more, but I went by the direction. Uh oh, we left somebody over here. Where’ that one go? Can you tell where it fell off of? Maybe here. I bet here. I think right here. We will stick that one back. I hope I’ll put that on in a minute. Okay. [Applause] Put your camera down, man. Help me a second to put it up here. This will once this cools a lot, it will stiffen up some more. I put this on paper. I know it’s bigger than my pan, but I can trim this off with scissors, so that’s fine. Okay, we’ll let it cool down a while and see how it comes out. I’m back at the end of this cake. Finally, the extra batter I had made 24 more cupcakes. So, I’ll be taking this cake and the 24 cupcakes to our church social tomorrow night. But, I did put the cake back in for another 30 minutes to cook. It need to be a little bit more firm. I thought the outside was done, but some of the center was not done enough. Now, it is. It flipped out perfectly. Not one piece fell off. That’s because it’s well cooked and it’s all firmed together. Now I let it sit for 20 minutes before I flipped it. It flipped perfect. Now one little piece fell off. Finally one perfect butt pipe upside down cake. My first attempt. Not bad. Maybe making some more of these. Well, that’s all for now. I made uh I also made three batches of cornbread for the social tomorrow night. It’s going to be a chili soup supper. We’re going to have a lot of fun. And I’ll be with you again later one day. Bye.
