Howdy, to post something a bit different, I finally used my new tool(wooden roller) and made classic europe winter pastry.

Got to say, quite easy and delicious, if you are not a dumbass(like me) and try to make the third one with a closed dome. :D(burnt)

Recipe if anyone wants to try.

    Ingredients (makes about 6 pieces):

    500 g all-purpose flour

    250 ml warm milk

    60 g melted butter

    2 egg yolks

    25 g fresh yeast (or 7 g dry yeast)

    60 g granulated sugar

    1 packet vanilla sugar

    A pinch of salt

Optional: grated lemon zest or a drop of rum

    For coating:

    100 g granulated sugar

    1 tsp cinnamon

    Chopped nuts (walnuts or hazelnuts)

    Melted butter for brushing

    Tools:

A wooden rolling pin or trdelník cylinder (ideally pre-seasoned with oil or ghee)

    Kamado Joe grill set for indirect/direct heat (180–200 °C / 355–390 °F)

    Pastry brush

    Instructions:

    Prepare the starter:
Mix yeast, a spoon of sugar, and a bit of warm milk. Let it activate for 10–15 minutes.

    Make the dough:
Combine all ingredients and knead into a smooth, elastic dough. Let it rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.

    Prepare the cylinder:
Coat the wooden roller with oil or ghee. You can wrap it in foil and brush it with butter if you prefer.

    Shape the trdelník:
Divide the dough into portions and roll out long strands. Wrap them spirally around the roller, then roll gently on the table to seal the edges.

    Coat:
Brush the dough with melted butter and roll it in a mixture of sugar, cinnamon, and nuts.

    Grill:
Slowly roll the the roller for 8 to 10 mins until golden brown.

    Tips:

When using a wooden roller for the first time, season it with oil to prevent sticking.

After baking, just wipe the roller clean – don’t wash it with water.

Wait wait wait, this is an European winter pastry? Which country hails this from? I sure as hell haven’t heard of this before; it looks cool though.
