What’s better on a cold rainy day than a bowl of hot chili? The Hometown Heroes Chili Cookoff took place Sunday afternoon for the first time.
The event at the Jennings County Fairgrounds was won by Montgomery/Marion Township Fire Dept. Cooking for the department, and receiving the coveted golden ladle, were Ryan and Crystal Danford.
Others competing for the award were the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office and the North Vernon City Police Department.
