oversalted overcooked leftover mac and cheese with veg and chickpeas dumped in there. solid 4/10. broke college student friend gladly took the leftovers so at least i didn't have to finish it off myself.

This is so classic. I do this when my food budget is low and I’m not necessarily mad at it. Sometimes I added jalapeños and bacon if I’m feeling extra

I approve the use of garbanzo beans, one of my favorite since i was 3. Used to eat em straight from the can or cover in ketchup and mayonnaise.

Didn’t get them often though, my parents claimed they were too expensive (just like a bed, glasses, or a door for my floor room).

Got a whole bucket of dried garbanzos in my cellar these days.

Well this has been an old man yelling at clouds moment lol, rambling about garbanzo beans.

If the noodles weren’t overcooked/salted I’d be cool with it.

Nothing wrong with this. I’m not a chickpea fan but when you’re broke you’re broke

That’s just Crap In A Pot. An actually pretty tasty dinner

10/10. When money is tight we find a way. It doesn’t have to make sense. Just needs to fill the belly.

Between the resistant starch in the reheated pasta and the oligosaccharides in the chickpeas, this is basically a superfood.

Some of these “broke college meals” will become your comfort food later in life. I made a tuna casserole the other day. Still hits so hard.

I love Kraft dinner and beans. It’s easy and fills you up. Throw in some broccoli or something and it’s a full meal.

If it has cheese on it can’t be that’s bad

looks fine. throw some kale or broccoli and leftover rotisserie chicken in there, you got most of what you need to get by.

Dude, I just discovered single-serving microwave mac & cheeses, and I’ve been making those with chickpeas. It’s currently my favorite “I don’t want to be arsed about what to eat” meal.

Looks like chaos taste like survival. Been there.

One thing I’ve learned the hard way is that when something is too salty, add a bunch of milk to it. Plant milk also usually works great in that situation.
