Have only made pastries and pies before this, so this was most certainly a frustrating but fun experience 😀 (apologies for the bad cross section pic :P)

Black forest for the win! 100/10 will eat it

Looks great. If you want cleaner slices, I recommend thickening the cream with cornstarch by heating it in a sauce pan. Once it’s cooled, mix the cream as usual to make whipped cream. Mix until soft peaks

I love cakes that look like this- soft & fluffy vs clean perfect interiors- unappetizing and dry looking.
I would INHALE this!!!! Great job <3

That’s a gutsy first cake classics, and it paid off. The cherries on top look perfect.

Black Forest is a bold first pick, but you nailed the layers and that whipped cream looks light and airy. Once you’ve made this, every other cake will feel easy in comparison.

Shut up!! That looks so good!!

I haven’t seen a nice one in years.
You did such a great job.

I would hug the cake, then eat a little and cry.

    That looks delicious.
My hubby usually requests Black Forest for his birthday.
It’s a lot of steps, but it’s worth it in the end

Good job!!! It looks yummy!! 😋 You’re inspiring me to bake a Black Forest cake. It just looks so hard and been holding it off. Haha 😂

Whipped cream is over mixed – starting to become butter. You can see how it has little “balls” beginning to separate.
