The MiTo is the original one, without any addition
– MiTo + soda = Americano (so the flavour is watered down) – MiTo + gin = Negroni (if you want something stronger) – MiTo + spumante = Negroni Sbagliato
I like bitter taste, and I also prefer the MiTo over the Americano (same reason why I prefer the Campari Spritz, instead of the Aperol Spritz).

I personally think that soda water really makes this come alive, rather than waters it down. It gives everything a “boost” and some extra acidity from the carbonic. I love making Americanos now I’ve invested in a sparkling water machine.
