I love Pasta Roni, it is so cheap and tasty and you can just add chicken or some extra parmesan to make it even better. The olive oil one is one of my favorites, but the last few times I've had it, it's been seriously lacking in flavor. It used to taste like something, but it's like they took out 3/4 of the seasoning packet and replaced it with some kind of powdered form of water. I've been sprinkling garlic salt just so it doesn't taste like nothing.
I saw one odd post from three years ago claiming they changed it and an Amazon question for a Rice A Roni cup where several people claim a change in taste, a lower weight, and a smaller seasoning packet. I think they had to do some supply line changes during COVID issues, but they still haven't gone back. I haven't noticed any issues until recently, though. Have you noticed a change in quality and taste?

Sounds like an opportunity to learn how to cook your own pasta!
While convenient, the box isn’t necessary especially if they’ve pretty much made it flavorless lol. Boil pasta. Add oil and Italian seasoning. it’s literally a pre-done blend in the seasonings isle, where you get paprika, garlic powder, cinnamon, and so on. If you want to make your own Italian seasoning you can do that too (but I forget exactly what it is. Definitely has oregano lol)
Edit to add: just saw the natural flavorings. Might also have garlic or something to get the flavor you’re missing, but you’ll have to play around with the seasonings to see what you like. Good luck!

Buddy I got some bad news for ya
So many processed foods like this have seriously skimped on the seasonings/flavor. My personal conspiracy theory is that Covid messed with so many people’s taste sense, that companies took advantage because they can blame Covid for something not tasting like it used to. And they save a bunch of money because their C-levels need a mini-yacht to fit inside the main yacht.

They changed the angel hair herb one a few years back as well. The seasoning is yellow now and the overwhelming flavour is salt. I’m still mad about it.
Pasta Roni is not actually cheap per serving when you can easily just make it yourself. You’re much better off (dollar-wise and health-wise, and taste-wise once you learn the basics of cooking) buying the ingredients separately. Cheap processed ready-meals like this are not as budget-friendly as they seem.
