Flaky crust, saucy
apples, buttery crumble. This pie has it all. Start by rolling
out chilled pie dough and fitting it into your pie pan,
peel, core and slice granny smith apples, then toss them
with cinnamon next. Make the sauce, melt butter, whisk and
flour, then add water and sugar, let it simmer until glossy. Then
pour it over the apples and stir to coat. Spread the apples
evenly into the crust for the crumb topping, mix flour sugars,
cinnamon and a pinch of salt. Work in softened butter until it
looks crumbly. Then stir in pecans, sprinkle that topping
generously over the apples. Bake at 375 until the pie is bubbling
and the topping is golden, let it rest so the filling sets
before slicing. This pie is cozy, festive and always a
holiday favorite for the full recipe with all the steps, visit
