I’ve been water propagating my other plants and herbs so I thought I’d give it a try on my banana and habanero pepper plants. Used rooting hormone and sat them on an outdoor window ledge.

Im propagating my favorite plants from this season. We’ll see how it goes

I haven’t tried it but it would seem like a better option for keeping a specific special phenotype vs overwintering. But I’m just speculating

Ive done it a couple times. Be very patient. It could take up to 2 months to see any new growth

I’ve had the best results with the younger, greener parts of my pepper plants too. Last season, I managed to get a few jalapeño cuttings to root just by swapping out the water regularly and keeping them out of direct hot sun. Once the roots started showing, they took off pretty quick.
