A new Italian street food restaurant has opened its doors in Wirral. Sugo, located on Liscard Way in Liscard, opened its doors on Friday, October 17 and will serve fresh focaccia, pizza, pastas, gelato and more. The new opening also serves barista coffee, iced blends and milkshakes including banoffee pie, naughty nutella and very berry flavours.

Owner Al Mrghani, 36, lives in Aigburth and set up the business with his partner Massimo Mrghani after planning their first business and creating its design for around seven months.

They decided to take the leap and set up their first business, having worked as chefs previously. Al told the ECHO: “We started to build the idea, and slowly, slowly we got the idea of what we wanted it to look like.

“The reaction has been good since we started. It’s really good, people love it.

“We’re starting slowly and we should get busier and busier.”

Sugo has taken over 20 Liscard Way, which was previously home to Greggs, before the bakery chain moved into a larger unit at 16 Liscard Way.
