An honest, local proposal, firmly committed to sustainability, without forgetting haute cuisine. That is the philosophy of Mengem, the Valencia restaurant that has just entered the Michelin Guide as one of the recommended restaurants for October 2025.

This bistro in the Cabanyal neighborhood, which opened its doors in December 2024, focuses on 3 main pillars: strict seasonality (they work with their own small 100 m² vegetable garden in Meliana), the product of Spanish origin (they spend time researching suppliers and reject imports if there is a national alternative) and a creative and conscious cuisine.

Its chefs Sandra Guglielmetti and Elias Kogler, both of French origin, have a solid background in “starred” restaurants in the city such as Fierro, El Poblet or Ricard Camarena Restaurant.

With this base, Mengem achieves the recognition of the French guide in less than a year. Its slogan, “Mengem amb el cor” (We eat with our hearts ), defines its project. “This recognition makes us proud because we have worked hard to be here, to offer something different and full of value,” expresses Guglielmetti in a statement.

The choice of their suppliers, they explain, does not respond to a fashion, but to a conviction. ” If a product exists in Spain, there is no reason to import it from another country,” they say.

This consistency, which allows them to maintain traceability throughout the year, is what the guide has valued. Their network of suppliers includes names such as Arat Natura, SH Levante, Suralgas and Granja Luisiana, among others.

Mengem, which will soon celebrate its first anniversary, is located at 19 Columbretes Street in Valencia. New signing of the gastronomic panorama of the city.
