I found this. While I admit I am a champion of my air fryer, I’m not so sure about this. To be fair I haven’t tried it, but will be soon. What are your thoughts?

It’s alright, I prefer pan frying still. I did it once and it didn’t come out right. Tried it again much later while I was pretty sick and it came out good but the bread was a little too crispy for me. Seems to happen pretty much every time, plus it makes my air fryer a bit messy and it’s much easier to clean my pan than the air fryer lol.

I personally don’t understand it. It’s just as easy in the pan and you can control it a lot better. Air fryer is nice if I’m sick or have an injury.

The pan is the way. Air fryer for emergency use only.

You can’t make a decent grilled cheese in the air fryer. The Maillard reaction is not as developed on the bread with an air fryer, it just sort of browns and dries the bread. The reason people THINK an air fryer is good is because the cheese gets melty. That’s because they are grilling with the pan too high, causing the bread to brown before the cheese melts.

Slow, medium-low, in a pan with butter yields a superior grilled cheese.

No. That’s just a toasted sandwich. Condescending ass article title too.

I 100% agree. Also use ghee instead of butter

I got 2 sentences into the article and stopped because this person clearly doesn’t know what they’re doing and they’re smug about it. Not everyone has problems making grilled cheese in a pan.

Also, air fryers dry everything out, and the bread gets hard, not crispy. The convection fan is the death of a good toast. If you can’t do a pan because skill or whatever, you want to use a broiler, not an air fryer or any other convection oven.

I have done grilled cheese in the air fryer. The bread ends up crispy even with butter on it. It was still good but nothing like a pan made grilled cheese.

Clearly the author of this article doesn’t even know what a grilled cheese is. Most of their pictured sandwiches are melts.

    1/10 article.

P.S. I have tried an air fryer, and I am not sure if it is my bread or something, but it came out tasting different. With my preferred combo of bread, spread, and cheese, it came out sweeter for some unknown reason.

My air fryer has a grill option to where you can use the flat top, with the lid open like a bbq. Despite that, I use my pan, as I like to airfry some curly fries for the side.

Nope. Air fryer grilled cheese is a hard no for me. It just doesn’t taste right, like it’s missing the best parts, the ones that make the sandwich so amazing.

This article made me punch a hole thru my screen. You owe me a new monitor.
