I managed to grow two plants this season, the sweet san marzanos. If the weather had been nicer, I could have gotten a better yeild, but I am happy with the results as an amateur gardener.

BER was rather low. The biggest issue was the damn aphids! They were crazy! They only disappeared when we had heat waves, which also caused a huge slowdown in plant growth and flowering for a month.

Next year, I will have more plants, and the season may be better.

Also, to anyone seeing my prior posts about suace thickness; I reduced down from 3 quarts to two quarts. It took about 35 minutes.

Beautiful!! Makes it all worthwhile when you get a good crop.

Nice looking sauce, I’ve got my San marazanos in the freezer still, I got 28 lb for 8 plants. Definitely not the best yield this year.

Plant more flowers and let some herbs flower like dill or cilantro and you’ll draw in beneficial insects to help take care of aphids and other pests. You’ll get more yield without having to increase how many tomatoes you grow

That’s some beautiful sauce! You add anything to it?
