Now is the time.
I just had a burrito and cut up one of these to put on it. I honestly didn’t taste much of the burrito through the pain and suffering.

Right about meow. Leave a couple on a bit extra and save them for seed.

Once they turn deep red pick em. Then your plant will be able to put effort into ripening the unripe ones sooner.

Since its inception a pot and should be brought indoors before it freezes… harvest as you need them. Or if you want to push for more chilis over winter harvest all those red chilis now and preserve what you aren’t going to consume right away.

The first time I grew peppers, I when to harvest them without anyone’s help

when any pepper reaches its final color it only starts to go downhill from there. Some peppers can stay on the vine a bit like thinner walled peppers but most will start to turn to mush in a matter of days. Some people harvest a day or 2 before final color and let them ripen on the counter like tomatoes.
