It’s sweet it’s spicy it’s savory and soft. One of the best sandwiches in Toronto.
Turduncle
i actually found the bread to be the weak point of the sandwich
Bobflan
I live in the area and can’t stay away from that place for more than a couple weeks. I always get the house special but with mortadella and burrata instead of the prosciutto and mozzarella.
witty_username_101
It’s a very good but not great sandwich.
Fig jam is what makes the difference.
But fairly expensive and no vegetables at all take away from it. Break is ok.

Carlo is a top notch guy, so happy for the attention La Salumeria has been getting.

Are you guys being paid to promote this? There is no content in this post and I don’t get why anyone with an opinion is being down voted to oblivion.

Loveeee the house special so much I make it at home now hehe

Yeah, that place is getting out of control it is turning into Badiali just 18 months ago and for nearly forever there was not always a waiting line. Anything can be ordered at this place if you know what to ask for, the entire menu is a hidden menu!
PoolhallJunkie247
I miss the pre-pandemic portions/prices. It’s good, but not $17 good.
This place is fucking incredible. The mortadella with pistachio butter is also unreal

Woooo
Fire-hydrant
Good sandwich. Great guy.

Best sandwich in the city!

Reminds me of my first Cuban in Miami….delicious

An all-time fav for me (which I sometimes have slightly modified), but what keeps it from being perfect is the bread, which reminds me of the stuff you get from the bins at No Frills. It’s good enough as a neutral carrier for toppings, but could be so much more.
Donkey_steak
It looks so good, I wish there was a menu description for it so I could steal it for my restaurant 😂

And the owner is so friendly. He spoke to me for 10 mins when I came in for the first time. He talks about how he puts no emphasis on social media but things took care of themself.
Even though I wouldn’t traditionally like prosciutto or banana peppers or fig jam, that sandwich is to die for.

They have been there for decades. They are indeed doing something right

That looks great. I have a feeling it’s $18 though.

It is an incredible sandwich
Able-Ingenuity8714
I’d like to try that!

Haven’t had this but loving the balance of veg/cheese/meat. Some places just throw a pile of meat on the bread and call it a day.

One of my favourite sandwiches, absolutely delicious

Let’s be honest, it’s fine. Those glazing La Salumeria are the same that glaze Fresca for pizza. They’re in the same category, kitschy, blue collar, establishments you want to pull for. That said, let’s not pretend like it’s top five in the city. The bread is your run-of-the-mill 6 pack buns you can buy at No Frills, wrapped with a heavy dose of plastic wrap so it survives the trip from the front of the store to the back counter.
You’ll never get downvoted in this sub for hyping/glazing La Salumeria, but let’s not pretend it’s anything more than a Reddit cult favourite.

The House Special. A 10/10 sandwich if there ever was one.
Their sandwich shrunk in size about 50% compared to what it originally was
So in my opinion, respectively, la salumeria is a joke
Alright, this might be my Wednesday (my next day-off) destination for lunch then, thanks!
Absolutely phenomenal sandwiches.
Portion sizes have shrunk a bit though.
Still worth it IMO but should be said.
Lemme guess $12-17?
One of the best sandwiches anywhere in the world
Anyone know if they’re open on Sundays? How about thanksgiving Monday?
So, a quarter of a tomato, two slices of mozzarella from a ball, and six thinly shaved pieces of meat for $17? I think I’m missing something here.
If you’re in that area, and love a good sandwich, I’d also suggest Ariete E Toro

What bread did you go for?
