Stouffville’s Christmas Dinner returns December 21, 2025.
The event offers a holiday meal for adults and seniors without a Christmas dinner to attend.
Volunteers are needed for kitchen, service, and setup roles, among others.
Santa will visit guests, and organizers hope to provide gift bags for all diners.
The event is funded through local sponsorships and the Whitchurch-Stouffville Legacy Fund.

For some in Stouffville, the holidays can feel a little quieter. But thanks to a new community tradition, no one has to celebrate alone.

Stouffville’s Christmas Dinner returns to the 55+ Club on December 21, offering a sit-down meal for local adults and seniors who may not have a family gathering to attend on Christmas Day. Now in its second year, the event aims to bring warmth, comfort, and connection to residents who might otherwise spend the holidays alone.

“It’s a community-helping-community initiative,” organizer Susan Tucker said in comments to Bullet Point News. “We want to make sure all of our neighbours are supported and have an opportunity to enjoy a festive meal.”

The dinner will feature a traditional Christmas spread and a visit from Santa, who’s “the real deal,” Tucker says. The event is made possible through the generosity of local sponsors and the Whitchurch-Stouffville Legacy Fund, which helps cover the costs of food and operations.

Tucker is now calling for volunteers to help make the evening a success. Key positions need to be filled, including a kitchen lead with their Food Safe Handling Certificate, food preparation, and dishwashing and cleanup

Volunteers are also needed to help with set-up and supply pick-ups, and positions for servers and waiters will ensure guests enjoy a pleasant and stress-free evening. Tucker is also seeking proposals from residents who may be interested in hosting activities or entertainment for attendees.

Anyone interested in volunteering or contributing can fill out the online volunteer form or contact Tucker via email for more information.
