Western Massachusetts based ice cream brand Batch announced it will no longer be offering its ice cream on store shelves.
“Whatever you find on the shelves now, will be the last of our pints,” the company said in a Facebook post on Thursday. “This decision was not made lightly.”
Batch said that it has become “increasingly difficult, nearly impossible” to find a facility that can produce their ice cream that is to the “standards we believe in,” leading to already empty shelves in stores.
However, Batch fans can still find their ice cream in their Longmeadow shop at 682A Bliss Road and in South Hadley at 15 College St.
The ice cream is made in small batches inside the shops.
Batch was founded in 2009 by Boston residents Susie Parish and Veronica Janseens. It’s now owned by Dave and Deb LeRiche.
Batch is open daily from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday in Longmeadow and noon to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
In South Hadley, the ice cream business is open 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday, according to their Facebook page.
Batch did not respond to MassLive’s request for comment.
