I guess I don’t understand why you wouldn’t have a chat with MIL about this wonderful gift she made that clearly required a great deal of time and love to produce.
You could learn the names of the dishes and maybe even ask for the recipes? If she doesn’t have recipes written down (lots of home cooks don’t!), you could offer to help make a big batch of all these items and take notes yourself so you could recreate them at your leisure.
