I saw this method described in a post here a couple days ago and had to try it. This onion was life changing. Cut in half, saturated with soy sauce, and baked cut down at 325F for 1.5 hours.

Salt and pepper with a bit of garlic, fresh green onions and toasted sesame seed. Tastes like heaven.
My mom did something similar, except with a bullion cube instead of soy sauce
