i'm pretty new to canned fish, but i really love it so far :3 my fave has been some canned calamari (i forget the brand, but i picked it up from a small store in town), and the smoked mackerel from fishwife. usually i just eat these straight up, or on a cracker with some lemon and hot sauce. do y'all have any favorite recipes or ways you like to eat this stuff? thanks 😀

FANGST! FANGST! FANGST!
(I do crispbread, an assortment of nice mustards, some pickles and olives).
There’s no wrong answer here, you can do so many things. You add a tin to a dish of pasta, salad, or sandwich. You can start with a nice bread or cracker and add some pickled onions and cheese maybe a spicy mustard. Or if you need a quick delicious nutritious snack you can eat them straight from the can.
Welcome to the club my friend
On toast, in pasta with some lemon, on polenta, on couscous, on rice, with roasted potatoes or potato salad (make a vinaigrette one & use some of the oil from the tin in the dressing), out of the tin with a fork…
Those are all fantastic! I tend to eat them straight up also, especially those two cans of salmon you have there, which are so good that you don’t really want to do anything that would overcome the subtle flavor. Happy eating!
You picked soke really good ones here!
I have a few plug and play editions.
Snack board with crackers, crusty bread, pickled items, hot sauce and jam.
Or
Rice, seaweed snacks, Sriracha, green onion and crispy garlic 😋
Primo!

rye toast and pickles
For sardines I put a little olive oil on a pan and toast both sides of a slice of sourdough. I add a thin layer of cream cheese, load the bread up with fish, then sprinkle a little everything bagel seasoning over it
