Winged it after pork butt was out of stock. Figured this would work. Anyone with experiences on this? Bone in shoulder picnic roast. I assume will be a bit leaner?

Any pork “roast” will typically work for most crockpot pork dishes. If you’re doing pulled pork, that’s fine. We use it all the time.

Yes it will be a little leaner. Under no circumstance should you cut any of that fat off.

Bone is still in it. The meat is cut from the shoulder. Picnic means pretty much the same thing. The meat will cook best low and slow, perfect for a slow cooker. Leave the bone in too. and make broth from it.
