Mama’s Italian House restaurant in Shreveport announced in a Facebook post on Thursday that it will be closing.
This is sad news for all the fans of the place, including me. Mama’s is almost two years old, and I had a great experience when I visited in August.
The restaurant will be open for about 10 more days.

In the post, the owner said, “…with a heavy heart we will be closing doors around Nov 3-4.”
Many people commented on the post.
Mark Acosta wrote, “This is hard to read. This is by far the best Italian food I’ve had in years.”

Craig Parent posted, “I don’t know where I’ll find chicken parm this good anywhere. I’ll have to come one last time.”
Mama’s hosted occasional Sunday pop-up brunches. The last brunch will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 2. You can make reservations by calling (318) 869-8929.
The post continued, “After we close for service I will be selling individual items. We tried and failed so on to the next chapter. It was nice to have met everyone we have met. Thank you for the love and support.”
