Unidos pours vino from Spain, California France and Italy
Heavy Handed, Leona’s Sushi House and Yala Coffee just got a new neighbor.
Opened Oct. 14, Unidos Restaurant & Wine Bar brings Spanish dishes, an extensive wine program and a neighborhood spirit to Studio City. The new Ventura Boulevard establishment comes from Che Peña, the former general manager at Pace Restaurant in Laurel Canyon. A longtime expert in Los Angeles restaurant hospitality, he first began his career as a busboy at The Ivy.

“It is a privilege to create a gathering place where the community can come together to enjoy exceptional food, thoughtfully curated wine and meaningful connection,” said Peña. “In the end, it’s not just about what’s on the plate or in the glass, it’s about the feeling that brings people back, time and time again.”
Developed in partnership with chef Rafael Torres, the menu is inspired by Peña’s time living in Spain and showcases dishes —ranging from tapas to family-style plates — native to Barcelona, Sevilla, Valencia, San Sebastian and beyond. Highlights include croquetas de jamón, paella de mariscos, chorizo-stuffed dates, steak a la parrilla (cooked over open flame) and a jamón Ibérico board.

After rounds of savory dishes, diners can end their visit on a sweet note. The dessert menu features key lime pie, a Spanish Crema Catalana and Peña’s mom’s cinnamon brioche capirotada.
