Cape Bottle Room, the only U.S. wine bar dedicated entirely to South African wines, is expanding to San Antonio with a new location at the Pearl.
The Austin-based business’ second outpost will host a soft opening Monday, Nov. 3, through Wednesday, Nov. 5, followed by a grand opening weekend Friday, Nov. 7, through Sunday, Nov. 9. The new space is located in the Oxbow Building,1803 Broadway St., Suite 108, adjacent to the historic Pearl Brewery complex.
Cape Bottle Room’s flagship location opened in Austin, where it has built a reputation for highlighting South Africa’s diverse wine regions and producers. Guests at the San Antonio location can experience wine tastings, wine flights and expert-curated bottles to go.
In addition, Cape Bottle Room will serve an assortment of South African-inspired light bites that pair well with its wines. Food options will include a Biltong Board — Cape Bottle Room’s spin on a classic charcuterie board — with cured meats from its country of origin, including biltong and droëwors, along with other classic wine-pairing bites such as cheeses, peppadew peppers and marinated olives.
The new wine bar will be open seven days a week. Guests can stop by 4-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m.-midnight Friday, noon-midnight Saturday and noon-9 p.m. Sunday.
