Hey all. Just bought this primal from costco. Looks a little weird with the color. Smells okay though. Any thoughts? Maybe it was just no drained correctly ?

Thank you for your picture post to r/souvide. We want to remind everyone of Rule #5. Posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is encouraged.
If you’ve posted a picture of something you’ve prepared, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn’t really fostering any discussion which is what we’re all aiming for.
Posts that are a picture with no discussion can and will be removed by the mods.
Thank you!!

Just looks a little oxidized to me. The smell of meat gone bad is unmistakable, as long as you don’t have a poor sense of smell (or COVID / long covid anosmia) you’d know if it was bad.

I agree with the others. It looks like oxidation and those white spots are possibly fat crystalation.
You can really smell test red meat. If it smells bad you will know it.
But a bit thing with red meat is the bacteria are usually surface, so depending on cleaning it and how you cook it, you can do ok.
But don’t rely on the word of people who can’t actually smell it and eat it with you. Be happy with it or you won’t enjoy it anyway.
