Joh. Jos. Prüm probably needs no introduction for a lot of you, but for those who haven’t explored the magic of German Riesling, this is one of THE benchmark producers in the Mosel and really the country as a whole.

The Graacher Himmelreich vineyard is adjacent to the Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard, perhaps Prüm’s most celebrated site. It is considered to have similar characterisrics to the more famed site, but perhaps more citrusy and more generous when young (which doesn’t really matter here as it is a 1983 lol).

**Tasting Notes:** beautiful medium gold color — much younger looking than its age. On the nose, incredibly expressive right out of the bottle with ginger, lemon peel, and petrol. Palate is a wild ride, with high acidity balancing out some pretty noticeable residual sugar. Outrageous juice — one of the best white wines I’ve tasted. Paired beautifully with French pastries but could pair well with savory, spicy dishes (think Indian, Mexican, etc.).

Jesus mother fucking christ that color is pristine for the age. Well shit, It’s been a hot minute since my last Prüm.
