Brownie Cookies

113g (8 tbsp / 1 stick) unsalted butter

8 oz (227g) dark chocolate,

⅔ cup (133g) granulated white sugar

⅔ cup (133g) light brown sugar, packed

1 tsp cinnamon

1 cup (100g) all-purpose flour

⅓ cup (33g) unsweetened cocoa powder (Hershey’s Special Dark)

When I bake i usually double the recipe but I made it easier so you can bake with 1 stick of butter or cut it in half and bake with half a stick!

Even though nobody wanted my cookies during the trunk or treat im not going to give up! Ill do better next time!!!
Thank you everyone so so so much from the bottom of my heart for your kindness on my last post. I thought nobody would see it but I cant believe all the nice words and comfort you given me. You are all amazing bakers and awesome people.

No one is eating baked goods from strangers at Halloween

  2. Judgementalcat

Honey they look delicious and are beautiful wrapped,  I would have grabbed them all ❤️

  3. KirbyJash

All look incredible, people are too paranoid these days nobody is drugging kids with free cookies, at the very least I’d take some to eat myself!

  4. Roupert4

They look great but cookies aren’t appropriate for trick or treating which is probably why nobody took any

  5. Npff101

They look amazing! Maybe putting ingredients would help (lots of folks with food allergies that might be staying away etc).

  6. thearcherofstrata

Wow, no one wanted brown butter chocolate chip cookies…? What is the world coming to…I’m guessing they just wanted candy?

  7. Upstairs-Reason-7514

    they look delightful!

this is absolutely unrelated, is your business name a Birdcage reference?

  8. exit-lude

People kinda *have* to be paranoid these days. The knife logo doesn’t help, but what can you do now. But they do look delicious! I would pay for them!

  9. kpkristy

You can tell how much love went into these. People are missing out.

I don’t know where you are but these would’ve done great in my small town. Also me personally, even though I’m 30, would rather go for homemade cookies than gross candy. I think many people are misreading and/or don’t understand that a TRUNK or treat is more like a block party in a common area of a town (like a school or community center) and you have to sign up or register, it’s not just random strangers pulling up and giving shit away out of their cars.

  11. Omg I would have so eaten these even if it was from a stranger. 😂 Ty for the receipe op, I’m gonna try it out.

  12. Zestyclose_Koala_593

I’m sure they’re great. They look great! But your logo is literally a blade inside the treat. That is THE thing they warn us about as kids….
Also homemade treats from strangers are the biggest red flag at Halloween time, unfortunately.

  13. HeyIts-Amanda

They look great! Wishing you better luck at your next event.

  14. TragicaDeSpell

If you displayed them like the photo maybe it was too hard for people see what you were offering. Maybe make a display describing each type of cookie and listing ingredients.

Don’t get discouraged–the cookies look amazing, and you are clearly a caring and talented baker!

  15. leonypeonie

Now I want cookies! What were the other flavours? I see a latte swirl

  16. Accomplished-Eye8211

Those look fantastic. Do you live in a neighborhood where everyone knows everyone?

I’m asking because… I’m older. I grew up at a time when there was that scare that sickos put razor blades in apples. Our parents went through our bags and verything that wasn’t factory sealed got thrown out.

That’s over 50 years ago. Maybe times have changed.. or it’s not a concern where you live. Because those cookies look fantastic and it’s so much nicer than Store-bought candy. I’d hate to think some people would be nervous about them

    EDIT
I realize now that trunk or treat is some kind of trade show like event.

I think it’s appropriate for a business to hand those out. I’ve picked up glassine bags of food at a conference from the booths in the Expo hall.

  17. CrystalizedinCali

These would’ve been gone in 5 minutes at the trunk or treat by me. Very weird. They look great!

  18. shadoof-in-the-city

These look amazing! I would have taken 10!!

  19. Princessaara

I wouldve took 5. I loveeeee me some cookies.

  20. UsedAd7162

You would’ve had to stop me from taking too many lol. They look awesome

  21. learn-deeply

Cookies with hydrogen peroxide (3rd pic) devious trick.

  22. upickleweasel

    This is very thoughtful!

My little one has a severe egg allergy so even though we’d love to try them, we wouldn’t be able to chance him having a reaction.

And if I ate it in front of him he’d be so bummed out lol.

  23. OrangeClyde

I wonder if it was your salesmanship? Was your display not enticing? Did you keep them in those mouthwash boxes? Maybe donate them to homeless shelters/food bank/pantry? Aw I would’ve gotten some if I was there

  24. EffectiveNormal5737

These look amazing! I would’ve loved to be a trick or treater of yours!

  25. maybeinoregon

    These look delicious!

    I would’ve left with a bunch!

    >Even though nobody wanted my cookies during the trunk or treat

    Ok, what?!

When i saw your pics i was like i would only have trouble deciding between Choc Chip and Brownie.

Lol. Like who would not take these cookies?? And you individually wrapped them and everything. You did good. People are weird. and dumb haha

  27. veed_vacker

Unfortunately because of the news no one will take home cooked baked goods.

Ps the only person ever poisoned on halloween was done by their dad

  28. 000topchef

Some people are very suspicious on ‘treats’ that don’t come from a factory, securely packaged. I’d also offer some commercial ‘treats’ so those people can opt out of your home cooking, rather than accept it and then throw it away

  29. Silent-Witness1888

I always loved Halloween growing up, but we don’t celebrate it where I come from so I never got to trick or trunk.

  30. Drabulous_770

It was a nice gesture but I’m not surprised that parents don’t let their kids have home baked goods from a stranger.

  31. SweetPiee1

Yum! Those cookies are going to be a hit

  32. zomanda

I’m thinking of giving out canned food.

  33. FoggyFizzy

When I was a kid, we would always have to toss out anything that was homemade from our bags. Mostly for safety reasons. I wouldn’t take it personally, they look delicious.
