The owners of an Italian restaurant are “over the moon” to mark their first year in business.

Il Salvatore opened in the former Plough pub in Lakenheath last October serving up food, cocktails and loaded milkshakes.

Carlos Magalhaes and his partner Patricia Maria, owners of the restaurant, said: “We are completely over the moon with the warm welcome we received and the brilliant success we have had this year.”

He added: “We want to thank each and every customer who has supported us this year.

“Next year, we are hoping to update the menu and have a couple of new surprises to announce for the new year.”

In June, the restaurant launched a new breakfast menu, which includes The Big Italian Stallion Breakfast made with Italian sausage, guanciale, salami, fried egg, garlic mushroom, beans and mozzarella tomato toast.

They also added three types of souffle pancakes to choose from, including Kinder Beuno, chocolate and pistachio, and Lotus Biscoff and banana.

Connor Benn, a world-famous boxer, also visited Il Salvatore in the summer and posed for photos with members of staff at the restaurant after finishing his meal.
