Vertuo Pop blew up on me


Wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

We just spent $100 on pods and decided to run it through a rinse before popping them in. At the end of the rinse, I opened the machine and the pop chamber (the bowl that holds the pod) blew right past my face, along with a large metal spring. It looks like the machine is totalled.

I called customer support and since the machine is a few months out of warranty, they've offered to repair it for me for $125 or a 35% discount on a new machine. The discount is practically useless as it would still be more expensive than buying one at any local retailer since they're always on sale.

We only put 150-200 pods through the machine, there's no reason it should be failing so violently. Is this a known issue?

    You’re not the first person to experience this. I would complain a little harder. This could have turned out to be a disaster for Nespresso if an injury resulted. They should have offered a replacement right there and then. I’d call them again and stress how dangerous it was. If I were in charge of customer service, I’d so offer something better than 35% off.

    omg this happened to me a few months ago. I contacted nespresso customer service, luckily i had warranty still so they replaced the entire machine.

    That would totally piss me off to only be offered a 35% discount. Altho you can get one for less than $100 and some free pods right now. but what a shame to have that happen just a couple months out of warranty.

    Get this fixed ASAP! Insist that it’s a manufacturing issue even if it’s outside of warranty, it should NOT be blowing up on you like this ❗️❗️❗️
