One Thanksgiving my parents were visiting. My mother was not used to gas ovens and managed to set our oven on fire. We were able to keep it contained to the oven and it went out. But we had some serious cleanup and couldn’t use it for the dinner. I had a couple of propane tanks and just fired up the Weber gas grill and held it at 350. We managed to cook everything for the meal just fine. I have since used the grill as “overflow” for other big events.

Awesome. Ive done similar, you can cook frozen pizzas on your grill too, adds a lovely smokiness. Youre just campfire cooking !

To answer:
Its spaghetti with a vodka sauce.
Meat: chicken, seasoned with oregano, sage, basil, garlic, salt, pepper, and marjoram and a splash of msg.
For breakfast was omelets and grilled leftover Mexican food. 😄
Used the flat top to help preserve my nice cookware.
Will likely BBQ some chicken and make pancit on the grill tonight.
Fortunately, I got my fridge on the generator. Hadn’t fired it up once since I got it. It was my moms, and Inherited it back in 2018. After a little bit of tinkering, she runs great!

Yeah, this is why last week I replaced our old dual fuel range that died with a brand new dual fuel range. We get plenty of storms and power does go out. Electric ovens, gas burners. Best of both worlds. There are times during those storms I don’t want to get outside grilling!

I used to live on Guam asa kid. We had typhoons and other random power outages all the time. My family used to cook on the grill with a cast iron skillet like this A TON. Went without power one time for almost eight weeks. We had some fantastic meals out of the grill cast iron skillet. One of my favorites was potatoes, onions, squash, and spam. Just diced up and thrown in the skillet.

On payday I’m going to buy a camping kettle, at least when we start to have power cuts due to this inept UK government I’ll be able to make a brew on my open fire.
I have two BBQs so I won’t be going hungry either. And if it’s raining I’ll cook something on my open fire

When I first started dating my wife I found myself in this situation. She was impressed by my ingenuity. Granted she has zero problem solving capability so it doesn’t take much to impress her.

Yes, this counts!
Hurricanes (I’m in Florida), and being able to cook in their aftermath, were part of what ultimately got me into grilling in the first place.
