Maybe I’m dumb but how are they different?

Is this just pizza with a lot more cheese? Never had it, but I love cheese, so I’m intrigued…

I dislike stuffed because most places don’t bake the pizza to brown the second top crust before putting the sauce on. They just put sauce on top of the raw second crust and then bake it all at once, so the top dough is either undercooked or has the texture of a weird limp flat tomato dumpling 🤢

  4. When I had a gallbladder, I agreed.

Now I can’t have all that cheese and enjoy Lou’s more.

Does anyone have recommendations for stuffed pizza? Tedino’s was our top pick, then they became Wow Pizzeria, but I think they’re permanently closed now.

The obsession with ranking types of food against one another is so tiring. Sometimes you want one thing, sometimes the other. End of story.

First time I ever had stuffed pizza was at Martino’s on Peterson. Absolutely delicious, but damn if it didn’t always make my ass explode after.

I’ve always preferred Giordano’s over Lou’s, etc, so I agree

Most people I know who visit town went to Lou’s first, and liked it enough…but then loved Giordano’s so much more

Chicagoan here! I am equal opportunity when it comes to pizza- just depends on my mood.

I’ll give you that it’s really good and I don’t get the Giordano’s hate. But better than traditional deep dish? Nah, not that far.

Oh yes! I love Giordano’s but it’s not an everyday pizza type of dish, it’s way too heavy for that but every once in a while it hits the spot

  14. I’ve lived in the Chicago area my whole life and I’ve always thought that stuffed and deep dish pizza were the same thing. This is the first time I’m learning it apparently isn’t. I’m probably about to get blasted right now.

I love stuffed from certain places, Vito and Angelo’s and Arrenello’s is solid. Most places fumble it. That said reheated stuffed is abysmal so you need a crowd to even order one.

This makes me want to head to Champaign for some papa dels

I can confirm that stuffed is indeed better than deep dish.
