Recipe Cinnamon Rolls
Bake at 325F (163C) (preheat to 350F (177C)and immediately reduce to 325F)
Bake time: 15-20 minutes
Ingredients:
2 Tablespoons active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
½ cup butter (1 stick)
2 cups sugar plus 2 teaspoons
2 eggs, well beaten
1 cup milk , scalded
1 ½ tsp salt
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Glaze:
½ cup butter
8 ounces cream cheese
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups Confectioner’s Sugar (powdered sugar)
Steps:
Soften yeast with 2 teaspoons sugar in 1 cup warm water, let stand for 10 minutes
Melt milk and butter; add salt and 2 cups sugar
Turn out to a floured bowl and knead 10 minutes or until smooth and elastic.
Cover and let rise about one hour to 1 ½
Punch down, use rolling pin and hands to flatten and shape in to a rectangle.
Brush the top with melted butter, then sprinkle a generous amount of cinnamon sugar
Roll from one of the short ends into a roll.
Slice roll into 1 inch to 1 ½ inch slices and put on a greased baking sheet.
You can add more melted butter on top and more cinnamon sugar too!
Cover and let cinnamon rolls rise 25 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350F you will immediately reduce to 325F and bake 15-20 minutes,until top is golden brown. Keep an eye on them so they don’t burn!
Cool 10 minutes before adding glaze.
Steps for glaze:
Cream butter and cream cheese. Add vanilla and powdered sugar. Beat until creamy.
This is one of the most delicious glazes I’ve ever had, I will be using it for other baking goodies as well!
