It's been a while since I've had Trader Joe's ice cream, but I grew up on their mint chip & mini cones. As a cookie butter fan, I knew I had to give this a try. My fear was that this would be a plain vanilla ice cream with just a hint of cookie butter, but thankfully that was not the case.
The texture is lovely, high quality but still remains scoopable. The base is creamy and subtle, but carries enough of the cookie butter flavor to do the job. There was no real flavor description, but from my observation it seems like the mix-ins include cookie crumbles, and a thick ribbon of cookie butter.
The cookie crumbles had a noticeable crunch which provided a nice textural component, and you could clearly taste the speculoos flavor. The ribbon of cookie butter started out rock solid, but once I had nibbled on the ice cream for a few minutes I was able to break it into chunks with my spoon. I did my best to include photos to demonstrate the texture. I expected it to wreak havoc on my teeth because of how hard it seemed, but it actually dissolved nicely and without issue.
All in all, I would say this ice cream exceeded my expectations. Creamy base, and plenty of flavorful mix-ins. If you love cookie butter, I'd give this flavor a try if you haven't already.
Side note: my favorite way to enjoy biscoff cookie butter during this season is to spread a thin layer on top of a toasted Trader Joe's pumpkin bagel. It's heavenly, especially with salted butter.

It’s one of my favorites 🥲 my husband and I don’t get it often since it’s on the sweeter end of ice creams for us, close to our limit of too sweet. But it’s flavorful, not just a mouthful of sugar, and good texture
Definitely a flavor I’d recommend trying at least once!
Looks absolutely delicious.
I’ve had this sitting in my freezer for a month now. My daughter picked out that flavor when I got some of their horchata ice cream and she was not a fan and it’s too sweet for me. It might be an ice cream I end up tossing when I need more freezer space come holiday season. I really like the flavors but it’s sickly sweet for me.
I do a cookie butter milkshake that is:
3 scoops cookie butter ice cream
1/2 cup of whole milk
2 chocolate chip cookie dunkers
1 to 2 tbsp speculoos cookie butter if you want that extra flavor
One of my favorite milkshakes
I love your review! Now I gotta try it! Thanks!
I ended up throwing this out 🙁 I found it disgusting! I love all things biscoff and have a serious sweet tooth but I found the mouthfeel lumpy and mushy with no discernible taste other than sweet. Your review makes me think perhaps I had a bad batch… I found the crumbles mushy and not crunchy, and the cookie butter was grainy and watery rather than thick, melty and rich as I’d expect.
V different experiences and v interesting!
Love this flavor, but only get to TJ’s every
so often as it is a bit of a haul. We just ‘make’ our own cookie butter ice cream now. We
scoop our favorite vanilla, add finely crushed
Biscoff cookies, and drizzle on slightly melted Biscoff spread. Fold that in a few times and set back in the fridge for a bit till the spread firms up. I recently tried this with pumpkin ice cream and it was amazing. The perfect combo for Fall.
It’s one of the few Trader Joe’s ice creams I dislike. I love love love the pumpkin though
