Never grilled growing up and had no idea starting out. Got a five burner charbroil on sale and have been doing chicken legs with crazy homemade marinades. This with whiskey and music has become an unexpected hobby.

Brother you’ve just unlocked the key to happiness. Life will never be the same.

    Congratulations!

My quick advice. Start paying attention to how different spots on your grill cook. Generally your upper right and left corners will be hotter as opposed to the middle of your grill and your lower area (closest to your gas nobs will be the coolest.

I love this!! I started with a cheap on sale charbroil grill as well, after 3 years, I decided to add a pellet smoker and learned a lot about smoking, I just recently added a blackstone and now I barely even cook inside, I live it so much. Enjoy it!

    Keep the lid open.

    Dont “press” on the patties

    Flip occasionally

Remove as soon as you see clear liquid coming out

Get some sesame ginger marinade going n some pork chops, grill those up. Some rice (coconut rice if you like that) and a green salad is a classic.

You’re grillin’ and chillin’. You’re Quein’ and brewin’. You’re turning up the heat and keeping cool. You’re doing it, buddy. That’s what you’re doing, you’re doing it.

Meat thermometer will help you learn a lot. Also there are fancy ones that are really nice now. Now that I’ve used them I don’t really need them as much anymore. Without them though I was stumbling around in the dark.

Man I just spent the whole day trying to figure out homemade wings, no air fryer…. Odd combo of insta pot and grill. Drinks. Music. Fall weather. Time at the grill is always a time well spent!!

Honestly that’s how I started lol, completely blind! My parents used to grill all the time and I never actually took it upon myself to start grilling up until last year when my mom passed and father went ill. Definitely made me feel like growing from a boy to man in certain aspects. Learning to grill, taking care of house and home on my own has been some traits I’ve learned. Happy for you! Definitely a good meditation experience and mental relief when sitting back, music playing, cracking a cold one & firing up some coals. I grill at least once a week now & it’s the ultimate sanctuary for me.
