A popular brand of pork jerky sold at Costco has been recalled after batches were found to contain traces of metal.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) said Golden Island Pork Jerky Korean BBQ Recipe could “cause illness or injury” to consumers when it issued the recall on Monday.

The Link Foods Australia product is sold exclusively at Costco, which has 15 warehouses around the country and has become a cult favourite for bulk-buying Aussies.

“The product has been available for sale in Costco stores nationally,” FSANZ said.
