I also had the pleasure of eating at Rogan & Co. This actually had a cosier vibe than its “bigger brother” L’Enclume and the idea of selecting certain courses rather than adhering to one set menu was rather appealing also. The menu I had is as follows:

Snacks:

Cipollini onion dashi & savory
Wholemeal milk rolls glazed in honey, whipped butter
Roasted Our Farm kales, preserved cobra beans, confit maran yolk

Starter:

Herdwick lamb broth & belly, brora swede, chive, black garlic

Main:

Braised Cumbrian ox cheek, kales, creamed potato, horseradish

Pre-Dessert:

Zaino courgette, apple & olive cress oil

Dessert:

Gingerbread cake, milk ice cream, champion quince, apple

The highlight for me was the onion dashi, the ox check and the bread… oh my, the bread! Glazed in honey and finished with sea salt accompanied with seasoned butter and “marmite butter”. I could have had an entire loaf of this stuff.
Fantastic restaurant, highly recommend.

These photos probably don’t do the courses justice by the way!
