Should’ve scored them a bit deeper, but that’s okay. I forgot how much fun it is to make them.

Looking good! The scoring thing is always a learning curve – I swear I either go too shallow or accidentally slice them in half lol. How’d they taste compared to what you remembered?

Those look pretty solid! The scoring thing is one of those details you only remember after you pull them out of the oven lol. Nothing beats that pretzel bread smell when they’re baking

Those look solid! The scoring thing is one of those details you only remember after you pull them out of the oven lol. Did you do the whole lye bath or just went with the baking soda route

Those look pretty solid! The scoring thing is one of those details that’s easy to forget when you’re out of practice – I always mess up something small when I haven’t made bread in a while

  5. Max is still in there other people have come in and gone home, but he’s still in there

I’m sorry, I have to cancel with the person whose mini baguettes I intended to steal and have to take yours instead. Those are sheer perfection. Did you use actual lye or soda? How do they look so good?

Edit: Ah it’s literally there in the title lol. Wow. They’re no lighter than professionally baked Laugenstangen you can buy in Germany.

Great looking loaves! Can you post a recipe link if you have one?

Also holy hell what’s with the bots on this thread?

This is the most physically attractive bread I’ve seen in nary a dog’s age.

What kind of pan did you use? Im a pretzel baker and would love to start offering things like this and other types of rolls

  10. These look great. When you say baking soda, you m an you biled them with baking soda?

Well done! I always struggle with the colour of Laugengebäck – mine come out too light. And I’m seeing a pot of Obazda or just some plain butter in the near future of a Laugenstange 😉 .

Looks straight out of a magazine! Absolutely beautiful. What are those giant seed toppings? And the small black ones? I’m sure they taste as good as they look!
