Photo One: A woman’s hand holds a Ball 8 oz jar filled with large chinks of pear swimming in a sweet syrup boosted with vanilla rum. There are 23 other jars lurking in their cardboard boxes the background.
Photo Two: All 24 eight-ounce jars are sitting on a dining room table, some are raised up on a rack as well. They look very tasty.
Photo Three: The “spirited fruits” section of the Ball Complete book.
Photo Four: The next page of the Ball book, which focuses on how to flavor pears with alcohol.
Photo Five: A top down view of the 24 jars, showing their hand-doodled labels.

These were actually made last week, but I didn’t get a chance to get them labelled for the pantry until today. Did a triple batch of Ball’s ‘spirited fruits’ to be able to gift for the holiday season. They are very nice warm over ice cream, drained and added to a tart (save that syrup to sip in a coffee!), or added to a shark-coochie board.
They ARE a bit boozy, though. Each jar gets a full TB of alcohol and it doesn’t get cooked off at all. I would not serve the syrup straight up without that awareness for those who choose not to imbibe for medical, spiritual, or personal reasons.

Those labels are adorable!
I love your drunk pear doodle 😍
1 tbsp per jar? What is the point?
